Fans rushed to answer call for aid

EVO-STIK League Chasetown have thanked their loyal fans for sponsoring every one of their players within a week of launching an appeal to boost their budget.

The Scholars ran out of players and members of their touchline team for supporters to sponsor within days of flagging up the appeal to support manager Scott Dundas and his EVO-STIK League South squad.

Proud officials wanted to see every player sponsored ahead of their big Buildbase FA Trophy clash with Workington at The Scholars Ground on Saturday and called the backing of fans "monumental" after the support eased the pain of their 3-1 exit from Non-League's Showpiece cup competition.

Commercial manager Graham Dicken only has matchball and matchday sponsorship packages left to sell after the success of the appeal and he said: "Thanks again from all at Chasetown FC for a monumental effort to sponsor the whole squad in less than seven days."
