Fast learners take title

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Halesowen Town have congratulated their ladies team on winning the Birmingham County Women's League Division Two at the first attempt.

The First Division South's Yeltz only formed their women's outfit last summer. They were crowned as champions, pictured, and secured promotion in their final clash of the season, a thrilling 3-2 win over title rivals Rushall to finish five points clear of the chasing pack.

Delighted Halesowen Town spokeswoman Sarah Titmus said: "Halesowen Town FC would like to congratulate Halesowen Ladies for their success in this their first season. Big thanks need to go to the ladies' manager Scott McKee for all his hard work over the last 12 months."
