The Reds boss is pictured welcoming Darrell Thomas, left, on board on Wednesday to head up the commercial department at Borough Park after he was signed by joint-chairman John Mackay to boost the the EVO-STIK League Premier Division club's off-field fortunes.
A former managing director of CFM Radio after moving to Cumbria 25 years ago to set up the station and deputy advertising director of Cumbrian Newspapers, Thomas will bring a wealth of experience working with companies across the region to the part-time role.
Thomas, who is planning to integrate his football duties within his media consultancy business supporting golf clubs across the North West, said: “I am delighted to join the team at Borough Park. My only goal is to obtain much needed revenue for the club, as well as giving west Cumbria’s business community an entertaining corporate sporting experience with the area’s most progressive football outfit."
He added: “Without the help and support of the business community, this level of football will disappear and the natural progression for grass roots football will have nowhere to go, so it was the right decision to contribute to a sport I am passionate about.”
