Carruthers, pictured, is backing his EVO-STIK League South Division leaders to give Stourbridge a game on Saturday when they travel to the War Memorial Ground in the first round of Non-League's showpiece competition after overcoming Peterborough Sports 3-0 in the preliminary round.
Taking heart from their own giant-killing performances in the Emirates FA Cup in knocking out EVO-STIK League Premier Division clubs Halesowen Town and Mickleover Sports after overcoming Staveley Miners Welfare in the preliminary round, Carruthers told fans his side were more than ready to perform and fly the flag locally.
"When we have met teams from a higher standing our players have responded magnificently, which has gained us two wins from games with teams in a higher placed league, as well as pushing Kettering Town all the way in the FA Cup," declared the Greenwich Avenue manager.
Pictured celebrating with his players at Leek Town after their 1-0 win, he added: "It's a mammoth game on Saturday against a very good side, on their own ground and in front of their home crowd. However, I'm confident we have the players to put in a good performance that will do the club and Nottinghamshire football proud."
