Elsewhere Kendal Town defeated Mossley 3-0, Matt Poole and a double from Matthew Dudley helping the hosts to all three points while Hyde United’s Matthew Beadle scored twice in a 2-1 victory away at Tadcaster Albion.
Goole kept alive their chances of staying up after beating Ramsbottom United 4-2 at home.
Despite the win, Dave Taylor and Derry Robson’s team know they must win all their remaining games and hope results elsewhere go their way if they are to remain in the division next season.
