Striker Tom Smith is on the verge of becoming the fifth junior at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Ossett Town to make it into John Reed's first team this season.

The 19-year-old is set to follow in the footsteps of Sam Pashley, Ryan White, Aaron Jones, Callum Brook and Brandon Miller who've all all stepped up from the reserves at Ingfield this season in the Doodson Sport Cup at Sheffield FC on Tuesday night.

Officials at the First Division North club announced on Monday that he'd made the grade and would be in Reed's squad for their trip to First Division South Club in the competition's first round.
