Final performance kings unveiled!

Farsley Celtic, Frickley Athletic and South Shields are the Northern Premier League's final performance kings of the 2017-18 campaign!

April's 'Club of the Month' winners will be honoured at the EVO-STIK League's annual awards night in June at Blackpool's Hilton Hotel after being unveiled on Sunday.

Chosen after Saturday's final fixtures of the season before the promotion play-offs kick off on Tuesday night, the trio will be presented with engraved glass mementos to mark their form and results over the final weeks of the historic 2017-18 50th anniversary season, along with a bottle of spirits to celebrate with.

Farsley Celtic under the guidance of manager Adam Lakeland won their first monthly honour of the season in the EVO-STIK League's top flight on the back of six wins, a draw and a single defeat, their April run ending on the last day of the season with the club securing the final play-off spot courtesy of a 3-0 win over Marine at Throstle Nest.

With the Blues heading into the EVO-STIK League South play-off semi-finals on Tuesday night with home advantage when they host Stamford, Frickley Athletic and manager Spencer Fearn could be a top flight club by the time they collect their second performance accolade of the season this summer.

After winning their first in January, Fearn's side pipped Chasetown and a number of others to the award and a third place finish with a record of six wins and two draws to collect 20 points from a possible 24. Along the way, the Blues banged in an impressive 27 goals.

EVO-STIK League North champions South Shields are also second time winners after collecting the first honours of the season back in September with joint managers Graham Fenton and Lee Picton at the helm.

Under pressure in the championship chase over the run-in from a number of rivals including Hyde United and Scarborough Athletic, they saved some of their best form to last to win again and take the title, the champions winning eight of their nine outings and drawing the other to bank 25 points.
