Friendlies Preview

Evo-Stik League teams are beginning to finalize their squads for the upcoming season, and this weekend once again sees a full set of friendly fixtures.

On Friday night (tonight), Bradford Park Avenue take on cross city rivals Bradford City, who have former Matlock Town striker Ross Hannah in their ranks. Also this evening, Nantwich Town welcome Crewe Alexandra to the Weaver Stadium, with the Alex squad likely to include former Evo-Stik League stars Antoni Sarcevic and Jordan Connerton.

Saturday sees FC United of Manchester 'visit' their landlords Bury, while Lancaster City welcome Premier League Bolton Wanderers to the Giant Axe. First Division South side Lincoln United play host to Scunthorpe United, and Sunday sees Sheffield FC welcome the Owls of Sheffield Wednesday to their Dronfield home. Another side who play top flight opposition is Chasetown, who take on Stoke City.

The weekend also sees several teams take on top Welsh sides. Kidsgrove Athletic travel to take on Welsh champions Bangor City, who were anihilated 10-0 by HJK Helsinki during the midweek Champions League qualifiers. Salford City also travel to the Principality to take on Llandudno, while New Mills welcome Bala Town and Prescot Cables play Connah's Quay Nomads.

There are also several games featuring non-league big hitters, as Frickley Athletic travel to Gainsborough Trinity, Quorn play host to Hinckley and Northwich Victoria play Kidderminster Harriers. Saturday's fixtures also see Chester FC and Ilkeston FC host Blue Square Premier opposition in Fleetwood Town and Alfreton Town respectively.
