Fun for all the family

Farsley AFC are staging a celebrity charity tournament and family fun day at Throstle before the kick off the new Evo-Stik Northern Premier League campaign to raise funds for the homeless and vulnerable.

The First Division North club have teamed up with Leeds-based charity St George's Crypt to stage the day long 7s tournament on Sunday 4 August. Kicking off at 10am, the competition will feature 20 teams, including an Emmerdale side and an ITV Calendar News team, and see the sides battling it out to become the 2013 St George's Crypt 7s champions.

Leeds United legend Eddie Gray sill be among the special guests along with the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Tom Murray. Farsley say that aside from the football, there'll be live music from a host of local bands, a grand prize raffle draw, a barbeque and a licensed bar. Activities for younger fans will include a bouncy castle, face painting and a variety of other attractions.

St George’s Crypt helps to support homeless people in the city and those struggling with alcohol dependency or mental health problems. The charity's staff aim to provide professional standards of care within a framework of Christian faith and witness to the service users, all of whom are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their age, sex, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or religious belief.

All funds raised on the day are going to the charity with tickets priced at £5 for adults or £2.50 for children aged 5-16. Family tickets for two adults and two children will also be available on the gate and priced at £12.
