EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Stamford AFC will be using an electronic substitute’s board from now on thanks to a funding initiative from Lincolnshire County Council.

After being encouraged by their local county councillor David Brailsford to apply for a grant from the ‘Big Society Fund’, The Daniels took delivery of the new board this week.

The Premier Division club’s commercial manager Paul Pepper is pictured with Brailsford and the new piece of matchday equipment which will be used by the first and youth teams at their new Zeeco Stadium.

Brailsford said: "I am delighted to award a grant from Lincolnshire County Council’s 'Big Society Fund' to Stamford Town Football Club and their Football Development Centre, as they prepare to relocate to their new stadium.

"The grant is in recognition of the excellent work of The Daniels in organising youth team football from the age of three to 21, and their community involvement within the club. Sports activities allow local youngsters the opportunity to develop healthier lifestyles that will benefit them for the future and maybe to pursue a career in sport."

Pepper added: "We are delighted to have received this grant and are grateful to Councillor Brailsford. It will be used by all teams using the Zeeco Stadium and community pitches and will also be taken to all away matches."
