Gee stands down at Wrens

Rainworth Miners Welfare

Kevin Gee has become the latest early season managerial casualty in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League after stepping down as manager of Rainworth Miners Welfare.

Gee, pictured, stood down on Tuesday night after the Wrens lost 3-1 at home to Brigg Town in First Division South, their third defeat of the new campaign.

The Wrens, who are away to Market Drayton Town on Saturday in league action, say they expect to name a caretaker manager within 24 hours.

Gee took over at Kirklington Road in November 2011 when he replaced former joint managers Lee Wilkinson and Billy Millar. He resigned within hours of their home reverse with the Wrens in mid-table with two wins and a draw from their first six games.
