Barwell

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League new boys Barwell made a number of late signings ahead of Saturday's big kick off to the new campaign.

Ahead of their opening day home clash against Chorley, Canaries manager Jimmy Ginnelly put the final touches to his Premier Division squad with six new arrivals.

Promising left-back Callum Earls, 19, has arrived from United Counties outfit Oadby Town along with Oliver Brown-Hill.

Forward Danny Newton, who was with the Canaries on loan last year, also signed on for the new campaign from Conference Premier outfit Nuneaton Town. He is expected to team up Luke Barlone and Matt Brown up front.

The three other new faces are led by Luke Blakely who's arrived from First Division South neighbours Loughborough Dynamo following his return from the United States where he'd been playing until recently. He featured for a number of clubs in the Leicestershire Senior League before emigrating.

Leighton Simmonds has also joined Barwell's ranks. He can play across the front line and is a pacey addition to the forwards. Former Leicester City youth midfielder Eliot Putman, 17, is Ginnelly's final signing.
