After hailing the medical staff at Stafford Rangers for treating Darryl Westlake when he was knocked unconscious during their September fixture, the Glassboys have sent their thanks to Nantwich Town for helping to look after Justin Richards after he was badly hurt during their Emirates FA Cup win at the Weaver Stadium on Saturday.
The former Bristol Rovers, Burton Albion, Cheltenham Town, Oxford United, Peterborough United, Stevenage Borough and West Brom striker is facing a long spell on the sidelines after rupturing the patella tendons on both knees when he landed awkwardly during stoppage time of the 3-1 victory.
In a letter to his counterparts at the Dabbers, Glassboys secretary Clive Eades wrote: "On behalf of Stourbridge FC, I would like you to pass on our thanks to everyone involved at Nantwich Town FC for their help and assistance on Saturday afternoon following the injury Justin suffered towards the end of our Emirates FA Cup tie.
"In particular, can you please say a huge thank you to your medical team who provided brilliant assistance to Richard [Drewett] our own physio, and also to your match day stewards, who also assisted in helping the stretcher back into the dressing room area at the Weaver Stadium."
Eades also confirmed that Richards, 36, is likely to be out for the rest of the season after undergoing a 45 minute operation to repair the damage although he is up about and already getting around on crutches.
He added: "Unfortunately for Justin and us as a club, his injury is quite significant and we’ll lose his services for the majority of the rest of the season. On behalf of all at Stourbridge FC, we would like to wish Justin a full recovery, although we understand that it is unlikely to be a quick one."
The Glassboys were drawn away to National League South Whitehawk in Monday's televised draw for the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup.
