Seasiders collect inaugural honour

Whitby Town manager Chris Hardy has collected his side's reward for setting the pace in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's top flight since the start of the 2016-17 season.

The Seasiders boss was presented with the joint EVO-STIK NPL Club of the Month Award for August and September before his side's latest win at the Turnbull Ground set them on the way to taking over top spot in the Premier Division table this week, Saturday's 3-1 win over Marine.

Hardy is pictured collecting a bottle of Famous Grouse Whisky and an inscribed glass trophy on behalf of the club from Mariners chairman and EVO-STIK NPL finance director Paul Leary. To win the award, his side lost just one of their first ten fixtures in the league while winning six and drawing three outings in the opening weeks of the campaign. To cap a great start, they also reached the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Seasiders were named alongside Brighouse Town and Spalding United as the first winners of this season's monthly awards which are being sponsored once again by the Northern Premier League's title sponsors EVO-STIK and their parent company Bostik UK to recognise the top performers in each division.

Spalding United were named as the performance kings in EVO-STIK NPL First Division South after going undefeated since the opening day of the campaign through August and September, the Tulips winning seven and drawing two of their outings.

Brighouse Town topped the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North table at the end of September to win the division's accolade after suffering a single defeat while powering to seven league victories over the opening weeks.
