Global business supports local kids

Scarborough Athletic's younger fans will be able to see the Seadogs in action for free again this season thanks to the support of UPM Raflatac.

The EVO-STIK NPL First Division North club unveiled the major local employer as the new sponsor of their popular Kids Go Free scheme at Queensgate for children aged 11 and under on Wednesday.

Scarborough Athletic director Andy Troughton said: "We are delighted to be working with one of Scarborough's premier companies, UPM Raflatac, to support the Kids Go Free scheme. It’s important that we make it as affordable as possible for youngsters to attend our games, and we would like to thank UPM Raflatac for making this possible."

With their UK headquarters in nearby Eastfield, UPM Raflatac are a leading global supplier of pressure sensitive labeling solutions, producing films and papers for product and information labelling across a wide range of end-uses – from pharmaceuticals and security to food and beverage applications.

UPM Raflatac's operations manager Neil Bland, pictured with Troughton and manager Steve Kittrick, said: "Our Scarborough production site has provided employment opportunities in the local area for over 30 years, in which time we have strived to continually support the local community, non-profit organisations and the environment."

"We are very pleased we have this opportunity to support the Kids Go Free scheme at Scarborough Athletic so that youngsters can enjoy supporting our local football team and feel part of our community."
