Halesowen Town

Halesowen Town have re-signed fans' favourite and hot-shot Ben Haseley for the new Evo-Stik Northern Premier League campaign.

The Yeltz say they are 'delighted' to secure Haseley, last season's First Division South Golden Boot after topping the division's scoring charts with 36 goals.

Haseley also collected the First Division South Player of the Year accolade at the NPL's Players of the Year Awards in April from Doncaster Rovers manager Brian Flynn, pictured. The striker won the vote of the league's managers after finding the net 42 times in 48 appearances in all competitions.

His new deal sees him heading into his third season with the Yeltz after joining midway through the 2011-12 campaign from Heath Hayes. The 27-year-old striker scored 107 goals in 172 appearances for his former club and has now struck 52 times in total for the Yeltz.

With Haseley's signature secured ahead of Wednesday night's pre-season friendly at home to Walsall, Yeltz manager John Hill believes his squad is in good shape after announcing a host of new signings on Monday.

Keeper Sam Pearson, defender Martyn Allard, the midfield trio of Matthew Martin, Neil Mackenzie and Chris Lait plus strikers Sam Whitehurst and Nigel Penney, have all signed for Hill.

Pearson joins from Dudley Sports while Martin arrives from Tipton Town along with Penney. Former Football League player Mackenzie has joined forces with the Yeltz after recent spells with St Neots Town and Evesham United while Lait arrives from newly promoted Stratford Town. Striker Weaver has signed from Lye Town and Whitehurst from Stoke City where he spent three years with the Premier Division club.

* Wednesday’s game against a Walsall XI at The Grove kicks off 7.30pm with tickets priced at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £2 for U16s. U12s go free.
