Local club Astley & Buckshaw JFC are looking forward to running out in a brand new kit this season thanks to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Chorley and sportswear specialists Joma, writes Josh Vosper.

To celebrate signing a new two-year kit deal with kit supplier Galaxy Football, the Premier Division's Magpies ran a competition for local teams to win £2,500 worth of Joma kit which was handed over to the lucky winners this week, pictured.

President of Astley & Buckshaw JFC Mark Perks said: "We are really developing the junior side and this has been a big boost. One of the problems to any junior football club is being able to afford all the kit. This has been a brilliant opportunity for the club and lads look really smart.

He added: "The whole philosophy of the club from a very early age is to look professional and it gives our young people confidence to go out on the pitch and win games at grass roots level."

Magpies manager Garry Flitcroft made the draw after the Magpies' final game of the season in May and Flitcroft is pictured alongside Galaxy Football's owner, Mark Parr, at the ceremony on Monday.

Parr said: "We’ve been delighted to continue our association with Chorley FC and this competition has proved to be really popular. Since the arrival of Garry as manager and new members on the board they’ve become a real community club and this competition has strengthened links with other associations."
