Grantham seek commercial guru

Grantham Town want to appoint a commercial manager to fulfil their ambitions of becoming one of the leading Non-League clubs in the East Midlands within five years.

In the wake of the recent changes to the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club’s board and management, new Chairman Pete Railton and the remaining directors at the Meres say they’ve decided they need the expertise of a commercial manager to help club achieve its ambitions.

With Gary Sucharewycz and Ian Robinson in place as joint managers following their recent appointments, the Gingerbreads are now focusing on their off field operations ahead of 2017.

On Thursday they released the following statement advertising the post:

"Grantham Town are keen to attract a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to undertake a full range of commercial activity on behalf of the Club. Your brief will be to raise revenue and enhance the Clubs reputation and profile both in the Grantham area and the wider East Midlands.

"On the back of a successful Championship winning season in 2011-2012 the Club is keen to establish itself in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League before then pursuing higher ambitions. We are in no doubt that to do this we need to attract more sponsors and supporters to join us on the journey and this is where you come in.

"We are willing to negotiate a generous financial return to someone who proves to be an achiever. So if you are enthusiastic, dynamic and have an affinity with football and are as committed as we are to the future of the Club there will be no better time to join us.

"We feel this opportunity would ideally suit someone with a sales/marketing background. In particular an individual who is able to draw up and then successfully deliver a range of short and medium term commercial strategies that will support the future ambition of the club.
