Grantham have snapped up versatile player Deon Meikle from Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division rivals Eastwood Town.
Meikle was one of the players Eastwood Town manager John Ramshaw released in the wake of a budget cut last week. He came through the youth set up at Eastwood Town and rejoined the Badgers from Belper Town at the start of this season.
"As soon as we spoke to him, he said yes to joining us," said Grantham joint manager Jimmy Albans. "Deon will give us options in a number of positions."
Although he started his career as a left-back, Meikle has played in the centre of midfield and recently at centre half for Eastwood Town. The player goes straight into the squad for the visit of current table-toppers North Ferriby United to the Meres on Tuesday night.
