Growing team needs new member

Frickley Athletic are looking for a new club secretary to join the administration team at the EVO-STIK League's Blues.

Officials at the EVO-STIK League South club started advertising the post on Thursday as part of on-going structural changes that are taking place on and off the pitch this season at the Big Fellas Stadium.

Although applications from candidates who've held similar roles will be welcomed, the Blues are also inviting anyone with excellent recording, organisational, IT and communication skills to apply for the vacant post at Westfield Lane.

Working alongside current matchday secretary Ruth Simpson and club directors, the successful candidate's duties will cover a number of key areas including player registration, contracts, transfers, ground grading and transport and logistics. He or she will also be required to attend board meetings and represent the club at EVO-STIK League and Football Association events.

The role is unpaid with expenses paid where appropriate and Frickley Athletic director Ryan McKnight urged candidates to come forward to take up the "exciting opportunity" in a club statement on Thursday.

McKnight said: “There will be a number of announcements over the coming weeks of how we intend to improve and enlarge the playing opportunities at the football club. Whilst this is fantastic for the football club we need to recognise the volume of work that this will mean and thus we are looking to expand the leadership team of the club/business.

“We are heading in a positive direction and this role really needs to be filled by someone that shares our positivity for the direction and strategy we are on and someone that can bring enthusiasm, positivity and hard work to the role. I believe this is a very exciting opportunity for someone to join in the exciting changes taking place at Frickley Athletic.”
