Guiseley announce signing of Hyde forward

Guiseley have announced the signing of forward Tom Pratt from Hyde United ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Pratt joins from Hyde having spent the last six years at Ewen Fields. He has spent all of his career in the Greater Manchester area.

He started out at Bury, where he made two appearances before his contract was terminated by mutual consent. He has also represented Mossley and Ashton United before moving to Hyde.

Pratt scored nine goals for Hyde, as they just missed out on a play-off spot in the Premier Division on the final day.

The 27-year-old said it was time for a new challenge, and he wants to challenge for promotion this season.

“I have had six great years at Hyde United and they are a great club but it is time for a new challenge for me,” he said.

“I have known the Guiseley manager Paul Phillips for years and he has spoken to me before about a move but I have never taken the plunge until now.

“He has convinced me that Guiseley is a good fit for me. It is a good deal for me and I am looking forward to being in a team that should be challenging for promotion.”
