The Lions had originally signed Ekpolo from Glossop North End during the second-half of the 2019/20 season.
He went on to make a big impression with the Lions during the 2021/22 campaign, amassing 35 appearances and winning the club's Sponsors’ Player of the Year award. He was also named the league’s best defensive midfielder.
He initially left Guiseley following their relegation from the National League North, but has now returned to Nethermoor as they look to build on last season’s 13th-placed finish in the Northern Premier League.
The former Burscough player started life in Nigeria but moved to Spain where he started playing football at the age of nine. It wasn’t until 2016 that he made the move to England.
On re-joining Guiseley, Ekpolo said: “I have had a lot of messages from Guiseley fans asking me to come back and I really appreciate that.
“They are a big part in why I wanted to return. In all my years in football to be honest, there is no place to be like Guiseley AFC.
“They treated me so well, so there was no way I would have said no to going back there. There is something special at Guiseley and I am so happy to be going back.”
