Guiseley swoop for Barnsley midfielder

Guiseley have signed young Barnsley midfielder Joe Ackroyd on an initial one-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old goes straight into contention for the Lions’ trip to Gainsborough Trinity this evening.
Ackroyd has been with Barnsley for a decade, having come through their academy before making his senior debut in an Emirates FA Cup tie at Oakwell against Barrow last season.
He also enjoyed time in the Czech Republic on loan for MFK Vyškov at the back end of the 2021/22 campaign, scoring once in 13 appearances in the Czech National Football League.
He was recently handed a new contract by the Tykes after impressing during pre-season.
