Henderson, pictured on his beloved turf at Croft Park, was named on Monday at the Football Association's 15th annual awards.
The Spartans volunteer was honoured in front of more than a hundred of his peers from all levels of the game who attended the awards ceremony at St George’s Park when he was crowned the top groundsman at Steps 3 & 4 and runner-up nationally.
Spartans are delighted that the FA’s Pitches & Facilities Committee included Henderson is this year's national and individual league awards and commendations.
A spokesman said: "The club would like to pass on their congratulations to Peter for his outstanding achievements and thank him once again for all of the tremendous work he does in maintaining the pitch at Croft Park. Well done Peter!"
The FA’s Groundsman of the Year accolades are handed out annually to recognise the outstanding contribution made by the unsung heroes of the game and encourage the development of groundmanship.
The names of the rest of the 2016 winners are due to announced on Wednesday.
