Ramsbottom United striker Jordan Hulme has been rewarded with a contract after his flying start to the new EVO-STIK League campaign.

The 23-year-old, pictured, signed a one year deal on Friday with the option for another season at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.

The versatile youngster can play at full-back or up front and is the son of former Rammy favourite Martin 'Tommy' Hulme who played for the club in the 1990s.

After scoring eight time already this term, scouts from a number of Football League clubs have been keeping tabs on the former Clitheroe and Padiham star's progress, prompting the club to put one of their prize assets on contract. Hulme's form has also helped lift the club to fifth spot in the EVO-STIK League's top flight ahead of Saturday's trip to Frickley Athletic, their highest position in the club's 49 year history.

Hulme also collected the Premier Division club's Supporters Club Player of the Month Award for August last week and joint manager Anthony Johnson said: "Jordan has developed into an all-round excellent player during his time with us, and his future looks very bright indeed."
