Injury blow for Matlock Town

The injury occurred during the Gladiators’ 4-0 victory over Belper Town.

Abbott was substituted midway through the second half of that match, and he has since taken to social media to confirm that X-rays have revealed the extent of his injury.

He said: “It’s obviously not the news I was wanting, but I will be doing everything I can to get back out on the field as soon as possible.”
