Ashton United Manager Danny Johnson is looking forward to picking up his second award of the campaign on Wednesday night when he is honoured as the Evo-Stik NPL's August Premier Division Manager of the Month.

Before Bank Holiday Monday's 2-1 home win over Nantwich, Johnson was presented with a special award to mark his 250th game in charge of the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Robins by Vice Chair Jackie Tierney, pictured.

Three days later he heard the news of his league recognition and the midweek Premier Division home fixture with AFC Fylde will see him offically taking credit for his side's great start to the campaign which he's already credited to his players and coaching staff.

Johnson, who has been at Surrey Street for five years since leaving Tarfford, won the judges' vote despite stiff competition from Marine and Rushall Olympic who also maintained one hundred percent starts last month, Ashton's superior goal difference helping Johnson get the nod.

Johnson was honoured by the Evo-Stik NPL last Thursday alongside Skelmersdale United's Tommy Lawson and Stamford's Graham Drury who won the first managerial awards of the season for the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North and Evo-Stik NPL First Division South respectively.

All three oversaw their teams recording one hundred per cent records to become the league’s top managers for August. Each receives a certificate recording their achievement from sponsors Evo-Stik and a personalised polo shirt and bench top from the league’s official kit supplier Errea.

Lawson is also receiving his award this Saturday when Skelmersdale take on Clitheroe at home in the FA Cup's First Qualifying Round. Stamford's Drury isn't due to pick up his until later in the month when his team are at home to Newcatsle Town on Saturday 22 September.
