Jones plays in Star Sixes live on Sky

Nantwich Town player/coach Steve Jones featured for Northern Ireland in the Star Sixes in Glasgow at the weekend.

Jones, 42, won 29 full international caps for his country and was called up for the masters football style event, which was televised live on Sky Sports.

Northern Ireland lost 5-0 to the Rest of the World in the opening game, before beating Scotland 4-1.

They lost 5-2 to eventual winners England, with Jones scoring one of the goals, before drawing 3-3 with Republic of Ireland and 1-1 with Wales.

An illustrious list of players took part, including Michael Owen, Robert Pires and Jay-Jay Okocha.

In Jones' absence, Nantwich were held to a goalless draw at Gainsborough Trinity in the EVO-STIK League Premier Division.
