Seary, 18, joined from EFL Championship side Preston North End in the summer and quickly established himself as a regular in Mark Beesley’s side.
He made his debut in the club's season opener against Morpeth Town, and has gone on to make 22 appearances for the Yellows to date, starting in all but two of those games.
Yellows manager Beesley said: “It’s great news. We’re thoroughly delighted Josh will be here until January at least.
"He’s been great for us. He’s took to us and we’ve took to him, and he’s been outstanding in some of his performances.
“He’s learnt a lot from his point of view, he’s got better and better.
"When he first came in he was 17, he’s 18 now, and for an 18 year old to be playing this many games in this league is a credit to him."
