Keepers give Gingerbreads selection headache

Grantham Town's joint managers Jimmy Albans and Wayne Hallcro are considering a recall for keeper Jimmy Lindley ahead of Saturday's trip to Witton Albion.

Lindley was suspended for the Gingerbreads' last two games but is available again for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division clash and his deputy James Martin may miss out at the Help For Heroes Stadium.

The Gingerbreads bosses believe Martin has done more than enough in a run of three games to give them a serious selection headache ahead of the weekend's action.

Albans said: "We have a big decision to make for Saturday. We will talk things through and decide what is best for the team in goal. We know we have two very good goalkeepers. James has played very well for the last two games and at Nantwich while Jimmy has made some great saves and brings experience to us.

"It has not been an easy start to the season for any goalkeeper as we have not had a settled back line for them to play behind. That makes a massive difference to a goalkeeper as we saw last season. There is no doubting, it is a tough call."
