Kit Aid kids send thanks

Ashton United

Ashton United have received a very special thank you all the way from the heart of Africa!

The Evo-Stik NPL Premier club were delighted to see evidence this week that the kit they donated to football charity Kit Aid was being put to good use by a junior team in Kenya.

HOVIC Street Boys FC are now sporting Ashton’s colours and Jessica Aspinall, daughter of club Chairman David Aspinall, is visiting the Kenyan city of Kisumu where they’re based to meet the team and see them play.

The youngsters sent their thanks and to show everyone back home what a difference their generosity is making, the Chairman’s daughter sent back snaps of the team proudly posing in their recycled Robins strip.

An Ashton spokesman said: "The club are delighted that the kit, which was last used by the club in the 2009-10 season, could be put to such fantastic use. Who knows, perhaps there will be an African branch of the Ashton United Supporters Club forming very soon!"
