Kurasik in Newcastle switch

The Australian played on 28 occasions since joining the Grove in the 2018/19 campaign, but last season he only made four appearances after mainly being used as a backup to Kieran Harrison.

The move to Newcastle will allow Kuraisk to be first choice keeper, something he wasn't guaranteed at Kidsgrove.

Following the 23-year old’s departure, manager Scott Dundas said: “It is a decision that Dom has taken. He wants to be a recognised first choice keeper which is understandable.

“It was always going to be very difficult to keep two goalkeepers of that quality, but he feels like he will get more first team opportunities at Newcastle.

“So we wish him well unless he plays against us. But good luck to him and I hope that he does okay.”

Due to Kurasik leaving the club, it means that young goalkeeper Cameron Morris has been promoted from the youth setup to the first team, and he is someone that Dundas believes has a bright future ahead of him.

Dundas said: “We are keeping tabs on him; he is a good prospect. He has been training with Scott Bentley in pre-season. As in goalkeepers, we are quite blessed at the minute with having the two options of Kieran (Harrison) and Cameron.

“We will be keeping a close eye on Cameron and he will be pushing Kieran to well in pre-season.”
