The Football Association has chosen Sutton Coldfield Town’s Coles Lane to host a prestigious cup final in the newly revamped Women’s Super League.

The Royals are already staging a number of fixtures in both divisions of the new WSL structure this summer for both Aston Villa and Birmingham City Ladies. Now they are set to stage the final for the competition’s reserves with the second strings of reigning WSL champions Liverpool taking on Arsenal in the B Cup Final on Saturday 31 May.

Birmingham City Ladies versus Manchester City Ladies on June 29 kicks off the top flight’s schedule in WSL 1 at the First Division South ground. In WSL 2, Aston Villa took on Sunderland in their first home game on the club’s state-of-the-art artificial surface earlier this month.

The Royals say WSL officials have now erected a television tower for BT Sport coverage and filled both ends of the ground with advertising hoardings as preparations continue.
