Lead us to glory Marc!

Witton Albion's Brian Pritchard has revealed he's signed Kendal skipper Marc Joseph to lead them to 'glory'.

Antigua and Barbuda international Joseph, 36, signed on Thursday's Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's tansfer deadline day until the end of the current campaign along with former Crewe Alexandra youth striker Jason Oswell, 20. Recently released by Nantwich Town, he started the season with Scottish Premier League outfit Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Witton Albion are fourth in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division and the pair arrived at the Help For Heroes Stadium ahead of an Easter weekend double header against Stafford Rangers and Nantwich Town with Pritchard aiming to strengthen his side's play-off position. The Witton Albion manager believes former Altrincham, Blackpool, Cambridge United, Peterborough and Rotherham defender Joseph will strengthen his backline and told the Northwich Guardian that he's been given a clear mission.

Pritchard said: "It's a fantastic addition, one of the biggest signings we’ve made for a while. I’ve been impressed with his attitude from the moment we first made contact; he is clear and determined about what he wants to achieve in his short stay with us. My message to him was simple; help us to glory.”

Joseph, who took part in a World Cup qualifying match for Antigua and Barbuda as recently as October but hadn't featured for Witton's league rivals since before Christmas, has been signed in part as cover for Josh Glover who heads to New Zealand next week for a family wedding.

Pritchard added: "He's fit, but we’ll introduce him gradually so he can have a look at how we do things. There was interest from other clubs, including some who are rivals for a play-offs place, but he preferred to sign for Witton instead."
