Leaders look to future with new role

EVO-STIK League title-chasing Basford United are looking to appoint a facilities and maintenance manager at Greenwich Avenue.

The ambitious EVO-STIK League South leaders are hot favourites for promotion and hope the right candidate can help them achieve their longer term aspirations to keep climbing Non-League's pyramid.

Basford United's chairman Chris Munroe, pictured, and club officials have seen Greenwich Avenue transformed into a community hub following the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G surface last season. Now in its second season, the facilities at the Nottinghamshire club's home also boast a number of other full and small-sided grass pitches.

United and manager Martin Carruthers are currently 19 points clear at the top of the table ahead of a trip to Lincoln United in the league on Wednesday night after beating Newcastle Town 5-1 at home on Saturday.
