Leaders pause for praise before winning again!

Northwich Victoria haven't stopped winning, before or after collecting one of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's inaugural Club of the Month accolades!

Named last week as August's winners of the monthly performance accolade in First Division North after their 100 per cent start to the season, the Vics were presented with their award on Saturday before beating Ossett Town 2-0.

Since then, they've also overcome Burscough 4-0 at their home this season at Wincham Park to open up a four point lead at the top of the fledgling table.

Vics manager Jim Gannon is pictured collecting the club's engraved glass trophy from Clive Timmins, sponsorship manager at Bostik, parent company of league title sponsors EVO-STIK, before NPL director Neville Wigglesworth presented Vics chairman Derek Nuttall with a 4.5 litre bottle of Bells Whiskey to toast their success so far this season.

As well as securing two home wins and three away from home while scoring 12 times and conceding just twice, Gannon's free-scoring side also progressed in the FA Cup, beating Runcorn Town 3-2 away in the Preliminary Round to set up this Friday night's First Qualifying Round clash at home to AFC Blackpool.

Likes the Vics, Premier Division leaders Blyth Spartans also collected their accolade last weekend before beating Stamford in a 4-3 thriller at Croft Park. First Division South winners Stocksbridge Park Steels, are set to be the last of August's winners to be honoured before kick-off on Saturday week (19 September) when they host Rugby Town at the Look Local Stadium.
