Wednesday's First Division South action review

By David Watters

In the only game in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division South on Wednesday night, Daventry Town returned from yet-to-win Kidsgrove Athletic with all three points following a 2-1 success, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute when midfielder Barry Deacon chipped the ball over the home keeper from 25 yards.

But, virtually straight from the kick-off Grove equalised through Joe Woolley. Eleven minutes later the visitors` Nabil Shariff scored what proved to be the winner for Daventry, who moved into fourth spot as a consequence.
