Skelmersdale United

Former Blackburn Rovers and Southport striker Zac Aley could make his debut for Skelmersdale United on Tuesday night at Harrogate Railway Athletic, writes Neil Leatherbarrow.

Signed by the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North leaders on Monday, the 21-year-old winger, pictured, kicked off his career as a young striker with Southport's youth set-up, scoring on his debut for the Sandgrounders against Farsley Celtic.

After being snapped up by then Premier League Blackburn Rovers, Aley played in the FA Premier League Reserve League against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal, eventually finding his niche on the left as an attacking winger.

Delighted Skem say he's also played in the Football League for Morecambe and Macclesfield Town and joins manager Tommy Lawson's title-chasing squad following a spell with league rivals Warrington Town earlier this season.
