League allocations for 2023/24 season

The FA has confirmed the league allocations throughout the National League System for the 2023/24 season.

The Northern Premier League welcomes back Basford United and Ilkeston Town at Step 3, following lateral movement, while Bradford (Park Avenue) drop in from National League North.

The two sides promoted from the NPL West Division, Macclesfield and Workington, line up in the NPL Premier Division, alongside NPL East Division champions Worksop Town.

We bid farewell to Halesowen Town, Long Eaton United and Stamford, who have all been placed in the Southern League Central following their successful seasons at Step 4 in the NPL.

Of the four sides relegated from the NPL Premier Division, two drop in to NPL East (Belper Town and Liversedge), with Nantwich Town and Stalybridge Celtic going in to NPL West.

A total of 12 sides promoted from Step 5 move in to the NPL divisions - Ashington, Newton Aycliffe, North Ferriby and Winterton Rangers in the East, Avro and Vauxhall Motors in the West, and Anstey Nomads, Coventry Sphinx, Lye Town, Quorn, Rugby Town and Walsall Wood in the Midlands.

Chasetown have moved laterally from NPL Midlands to NPL West, while both Carlton Town (East) and Widnes (West) received reprieves from relegation.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Hednesford Town move in to the NPL following their relegations from Step 3 in the Southern League Central last season.

The full 2023/24 allocations in the NPL are as below:

Premier Division (22): Ashton United, Atherton Collieries, Bamber Bridge, Basford United, Bradford (Park Avenue), FC United, Gainsborough Trinity, Guiseley, Hyde United, Ilkeston Town, Lancaster City, Macclesfield, Marine, Marske United, Matlock Town, Morpeth Town, Radcliffe, Stafford Rangers, Warrington Rylands, Workington, Worksop Town.

East Division (20): Ashington, Belper Town, Bridlington Town, Brighouse Town, Carlton Town, Cleethorpes Town, Consett, Dunston, Grantham Town, Grimsby Borough, Hebburn Town, Liversedge, Newton Aycliffe, North Ferriby, Ossett United, Pontefract Collieries, Sheffield, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Stockton Town, Winterton Rangers.

West Division (20): 1874 Northwich, Avro, Bootle, Chasetown, City of Liverpool, Clitheroe, Hanley Town, Hednesford Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Leek Town, Mossley, Nantwich Town, Newcastle Town, Prescot Cables, Runcorn Linnets, Stalybridge Celtic, Trafford, Vauxhall Motors, Widnes, Witton Albion.

Midlands Division (20):
AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Anstey Nomads, Bedworth United, Boldmere St Michael’s, Cambridge City, Coleshill Town, Corby Town, Coventry Sphinx, Gresley Rovers, Harborough Town, Hinckley LR, Loughborough Dynamo, Lye Town, Quorn, Rugby Town, Shepshed Dynamo, Spalding United, Sporting Khalsa, Sutton Coldfield Town, Walsall Wood.
