League Statement - Eastwood Town/Leek Town

By Alan Allcock

Decision by the League Board 9th March.

At a League Board meeting on Sunday 9th March the resignation letter received from Eastwood Town Football Club was accepted. Eastwood Town are therefore no longer members of the Northern Premier League.

The League Board agreed that the Eastwood Town playing record for season 2013-2014 will be expunged. The League table will be re-adjusted to reflect the decision at the earliest opportunity.

Earlier in the same meeting Leek Town were charged with playing an ineligible player in their home fixture versus Eastwood Town on the 23rd November. Leek Town won the game 5-0.

The charge was as a result of the The FA confirming the ineligibility of the player in the relevant fixture. The League Board sanctioned Leek Town a fine of a further £100 and according to League Rule 6.9 have any points gained from the fixture removed from their record. The removal of points gained being match specific.

When the League table is finally adjusted due to Eastwood Town, Leek Town are deemed to have not gained any points for the fixture versus Eastwood Town due to the earlier sanction. The recalculation of points for Leek Town will therefore not show a further reduction of 3 points.
