League trending in all directions!

By David Watters

Altrincham, Goole, Ossett Town, South Shields, Stourbridge and the EVO-STIK-League were all trending again on Twitter on Tuesday night!

The second-from-bottom Vikings were flagged up on the social media's heat map for the first time this season after bagging their first victory of 2017-18 in EVO-STIK League North, a 2-0 win over Tadcaster Albion at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds. South Shields and Ossett Town were trending all across the North East as the 2017 FA Vase winners held on to top spot in the division with a 2-0 victory at Ingfield.

Hyde United's win over Warrington Town in their Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round replay lit up the heat map in the North West, along with the Altrincham hastag after they hit Farsley Celtic for six at Moss Lane without reply in the night's biggest win. Further south, Stourbridge's fans created their own glow as the Glassboys climbed into fourth spot in the top flight with a 2-1 win at Mickleover Sports.

The EVO-STIK League's clubs have been regularly making the social media platform's UK 'heat map' since the start of the season. The EVO-STIK League itself was also outstripping the Premier League's big guns on new social platform Vole last week!

Followers hit the 1,000 milestone mark last Wednesday night after Vole was added to EVO-STIK League's thriving social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in August following the free platform's successful launch in Germany and the UK for the start of the 2017-18 campaign.

The early impact of Vole, dubbed the Instagram of football, is expected to help the EVO-STIK League's stats on social media continue to surge with nearly 17,000 fans, players and officials currently following on Twitter and thousands more visiting the official Facebook pages and liking what they see.
