Loan deal wanted for second star

By David Watters

Southport are looking to send a second player out on loan in the EVO-STIK League.

The National League North club - who made defender Jacques Kpohomouh available two weeks ago - are hoping an EVO-STIK League club can offer striker Daniel Cockerline a loan spell in the run-up to Christmas.

Sandgrounders secretary Ken Hilton contacted the league ahead of the weekend's action to say the 21-year-old forward was also being made available by manager Kevin Davies to help him get more game time.

Warrington-born Cockerline kicked off his career at Sheffield United before moving on to Curzon Ashton, Barrow and Stalybridge Celtic before arriving at Haig Avenue in September.

Interested clubs are asked to contact Davies direct. For more information email: ken@southportfc.net.
