Loan extension at Grimsby Borough

Grimsby Town forward Edwin Essel has seen his loan at Grimsby Borough extended until the end of the season.

A product of the League Two side’s academy system, Essel joined the club as a 10-year-old and signed his first professional contract with the club in April last year.

He has made three appearances for the Mariners so far.

The teenage striker first joined the Wilderness Boys in October and, after extending his spell by a further month in November, has now signed a deal that will see him with Borough for the remainder of the campaign.

Essel has scored three goals in nine games to date for the Pitching In NPL East Division side.
