Loan striker earns his stripes

Striker Tom Denton signed for Worksop Town on Thursday from Conference Premier Alfreton for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old banged in 11 goals in 11 games during a loan spell earlier this season at the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Tigers to quickly become a fans' favourite.

Manager Simon Clark has also persuaded Gainsborough Trinity full back Lee Ridley to stay on loan at Sandy Lane for another two months.

Denton started at Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Wakefield before moving to Huddersfield Town for a £60,000 fee in August 2008. Since then he's played for Woking, Cheltenham Town, Mossley and Wakefield on loan.
