EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Stourbridge have signed Accrington Stanley striker George Bowerman on loan until January.

The Sedgley-born League Two forward, pictured, is eligible in play in the FA Trophy this weekend at First Division South Carlton Town and in the Premier Division club's other remaining cup competitions along with their programme of league games after joining on Monday.

The 22-year-old - who celebrates his 23rd birthday on November 6th - is the son of former Glassboys player and assistant manager Alf Bowerman and could make his debut at Nantwich Town on Tuesday night in the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight.

Bowerman started his career at Walsall, progressing from the youth ranks into the senior side in between a loan spell at Redditch United in early 2011. In all, he made 59 appearances and scored 11 goals for the Saddlers but after falling out of favour with boss Dean Smith, was released at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

A short stint with Woking followed before he signed for Accrington Stanley in October 2013. His opportunities were limited in his first season there but he managed three goals and did enough to win a new 12-month contract last summer from then Stanley boss James Beattie.

The Glassboys moved to strengthen their attacking options following the serious injury sustained by Ben Billingham recently at Matlock Town along with the on-going hamstring injury top scorer Luke Benbow is battling.
