Long Eaton United make loan addition

Young Notts County defender Ashaiah Fearon has joined Long Eaton United on an initial one-month loan.

The wing-back makes the move from the National League leaders after impressing ex-Stag goalkeeper Ian Deakin in the Magpies’ defeat to local rivals Mansfield Town in the quarter-final of the Notts Senior Cup.

“Deaks said he watched my game against Mansfield Town and that he was impressed,” Fearon said.

“My academy manager was looking at men’s football and we thought it would be a good opportunity to get some minutes in.

“Last year I was on loan at Melton Town but since then I have not played much men’s football so it will be a good chance, going up a level, to see what I can do and get some good minutes in.”

He could go straight into contention for Saturday’s trip to Dunston.
