Loyal fans hold winning hands for clubs

Online bookies BetBright believe they’re sowing the seeds of sustainable funding for clubs after revealing their latest success story since becoming the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s official betting partner.

Betbright teamed up with the Evo-Stik NPL in the run-up to Christmas with an affiliates deal paying clubs £40 for every fan who opens an account with them and wagers £25, regardless of whether they’ve won or lost. As a reward for their loyalty, supporters also receive a £20 free bet.

More than half of the league clubs have already received or are in line for cash bounties and on Tuesday the relatively new entrants to the online market hailed the example of Premier Division Buxton who’ve banked a cheque for £1,400 thanks to loyal supporters who've signed up.

Mark Singleton, Head of Business Development at Betbright, is working with clubs across Non-League and the professional game but reckons they’ve struck a chord with NPL fans who enjoy a flutter and have made sure their own clubs have benefited from the one off cash bounties on offer.

More than 20 other clubs collected commission cheques at the recent League Development Day at the West Riding FA’s HQ in Leeds and Singleton said: "The funding initiative is providing clubs with a potentially-unlimited source of support, based on the level of participation by each clubs’ fans, and a prime case-in-point is the tale of Buxton.

"They just been given £1,400 thanks to 35 of their loyal supporters getting on-board the scheme within the first month of its operation."
