Machin walks away before win

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Loughborough Dynamo are looking for a new manager after parting company with Scott Machin.

The former Kettering Town manager, pictured, stood down before his side's 3-2 win over Carlton Town on Saturday, two months after returning to the First Division South club to succeed former joint bosses Lee Morris and Jason Maguire.

Former Dynamo striker Kris Nurse took charge as caretaker for the club's first win in the league since October, a 2-1 victory at Belper Town that proved to be Machin's sole success since he took over. Apart from drawing his first game and securing one other stalemate, Machin had overseen seven defeats in league and cup action before his final game at the helm, last weekend's 9-1 rout at Chasetown.

The versatile Nurse, 29, retired at the end of last season before joining the club's coaching staff and embarking on his coaching badges over the summer. He is also the club's award winning groundsman at the Nanpantan Sports Ground and was named in 2014 as the Football Association's EVO-STIK NPL Groundsman of the Year.

Second from bottom Dynamo are away at Kidsgrove Athletic in the league on Wednesday and in a brief statement confirming Machin's departure, chairman Frank Fall thanked Nurse for stepping in while they consider candidates to make a permanent appointment.

Fall said: "Scott Machin has resigned from his post as manager of Loughborough Dynamo. Kris Nurse is covering the position in a caretaker capacity, and we at Dynamo would like to thank Kris and his coaching staff colleagues for overseeing today's match against Carlton Town."

Machin led the Poppies to promotion into the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division as Division One Central champions in April after coaching at Dynamo two years ago.
