Magpies boss to attend Carlton ceremony

Martin Allen will be guest at the re-naming of Carlton's stadium.

Notts County manager Martin Allen has added his support to Carlton Town's renaming of Stoke Lane after local teenager Terri Sheppard.

Terri, who was tragically killed just yards away from the club's stadium, was a huge Notts County fan, and her family have extended their appreciation towards the Magpies for this gesture.

"We were hoping someone from Notts County could come as that was the club Terri supported," said club chairman Mick Garton.

The 4th November event starts at 7.00pm as Carlton's Tim Harris takes to the decks with presentations set to take place between 8.00pm and 9.00pm.

The winner's of the final football tournaments in the arena before the name change will be awarded with their prizes including kits and trophies before a special presentation for the man who saved the clubhouse from being burnt to the ground recently before the name changing ceremony takes place.

"It will be an emotional evening, we are not sending out invites as such as it will be an open house for anyone who wants to pay their respects and witness a very special night and we are delighted Martin Allen has agreed to come," Garton continued

"I would like to thank the school and Paul from Mace sport who have organised this and we can all now look forward to what will be a smashing evening and something that will mean so much to so many" concluded the Millers' Chairman.
