Magpies launch quiz night fundraiser

Chorley's Supporters Club are ramping up their fundraising efforts to buy a new £12,000 public address system for the Magpies.

Chorley fans kicked off the campaign off by raising £900 on a 16 mile sponsored walk a few weeks back and are now organising a grand quiz night for fans next Wednesday night [September 16] at Victory Park's Social Club.

Supporters Club Vice-Chairman Josh Vosper said: "Our sponsored walk to Eagley was a overwhelming success as we raised just over £900 which was a fantastic effort from all concerned. The journey was a hard 16-mile walk but was well worth the effort once we counted up how much we’d collected. Now we have come up with another fundraiser, a quiz night. It’ll take place on Wednesday at 8pm in the Social Club.

"I urge the good people of Chorley to get down and support our cause as we need all the help we can get in raising £12,000 for a new PA system. The team is grafting on the pitch and it’s up to us to do the same off it and support Garry and the lads as best we can. Lots of raffle prizes will be available on the night and £50 will be given to the quiz winners."

He added: "The Supporters Club this season has slowly grown as we’ve recruited new members and engaged with them. Every month we send out newsletters and it’s slowly becoming a community with one thing in common – Chorley FC. Tickets for the quiz are only £3 and include a hot pot supper.
